On the afternoon of 15 Sept. 17, I (Det. D. Koletsos #1459) conducted a non-custodial interview with subject in the area of 600 Block of Lavernge (Lavernge/Ohio) at approximately 1400 hrs. was advised that she was free to leave at any time. Chicago Police Department 15th District Tactical Officers Sgt. Gonzalez (*1477) and Officer Cuevas (*15877) stood by. The following is in summary, not verbatim:
When asked if she attended the hotel party at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (5440 N. River Rd.) on the evening of 08 Sept. 17 into 09 Sept. 17, stated yes. When asked what time she arrived there, she stated that she arrived between 2300 and 2330 hrs. She continued that she drive to the party with one of the individuals celebrating their birthday ( ). I asked her who else she came to the party with. She stated that she came with and .
I asked if she had been smoking or drinking at the party. admitted to having smoked marijuana as well as having drunk Henesey. When I asked her if saw Kenneka drinking, she stated yes. I asked her how much she drank at first. She stated that Kenneka drank one cup at first. However, as the evening went on, she observed Kenneka drinking straight from the bottle. I asked her what Kenneka was drinking. She stated Henesey. I asked her again roughly how much Henesey Kenneka may have consumed. She stated most of the bottle (Fifth of Henesey).
continued that Kenneka left the room by herself. Her friends followed behind roughly a few minutes later. She then stated that the friends came back for Kenneka’s car keys and cell phone.
I asked what time she left the hotel party. She stated that she left at approximately 0400 hrs. with . She stated that everyone left the hotel party by that time.
I asked for her Facebook page. stated that she uses the name of . I asked to pull up her Facebook page on her cell phone and I took a picture of it. I then took a picture of to provide to A/Sgt. Doulas (#1438).
I asked if she knew “PZ”. She stated yes and that he goes by the name of “John Doe” on Facebook.
I then asked if she could recall any fighting or other issues in the room. She stated that everyone was getting along and that there was no fighting. I asked if anyone from the hotel came to room 0926. She stated that she didn’t recall anyone coming to the room.
I then asked her if she had any contact with any employee from the hotel. She stated that she did see a uniformed worker at the front desk. The worker told her and that they would receive free parking (validated). I asked her if she could recall a name. At the time of the interview, she was unable to provide me with a name. I asked her to describe the employee. She stated that the subject was a male, with dark color hair, no facial hair or glasses. I asked if she had any other conversations with the employee. She stated that the subject told them it was ok to dismantle the smoke detector in the room (0926) so they could smoke. I asked her if anyone was with her at the desk at the time. She stated -- was with her. I asked her if anyone dismantled the smoke detector. She stated that around midnight, someone took it down. She was unable to tell me who took it down.
I then concluded the interview with at approximately 1415 hrs. I then waited for A/Sgt. Doulas to finish speaking with another individual (Dean) in the area.
